The Institute for Liberty & Economic Education (ILEE) has successfully organized the Freedom Writers Fellowship 2025 workshop and induction ceremony under the theme: “Writing for Liberty: Unleashing Stories, Inspiring Change.”

As a non-profit, non-political, and non-partisan youth-led think tank, ILEE is committed to promoting the principles of individual liberty, free markets, and private property. Its mission is to foster economic growth and development by disseminating the values and principles of liberty through research and education.

Through rigorous policy research and educational initiatives, ILEE collaborates with students and scholars from various universities, engaging with business leaders, professionals, journalists, and individuals passionate about advancing liberty.

The Freedom Writers Fellowship (FWF) is designed to empower individuals passionate about libertarianism, storytelling, advocacy, and impactful writing.

Key Objectives of the Fellowship:

  • Community Building: Foster a community of writers dedicated to promoting liberty and free markets.
  • Skill Development: Equip participants with the skills and knowledge to craft compelling narratives that inspire change.
  • Amplifying Voices: Elevate the voices of underrepresented groups in society through thoughtful and engaging writing.
  • Platform Sharing: Provide a platform for writers to showcase their work and connect with like-minded individuals.

Speaking to Ghana News Online, Eric Coffie, Executive President of ILEE, disclosed that the program aimed to train participants in writing and publishing to promote libertarian ideas. Out of 23 participants, 16 successfully qualified, with 12 attending the induction ceremony.

Osei Opare Asantee, a visually impaired student from the University of Cape Coast and one of the inductees, described his selection as a “great privilege and opportunity.” He expressed his ambition to use his writing skills to inspire change and empower people with disabilities to achieve their goals through educational writing.
